Chief, National Guard Bureau, visits historic Concord Bridge

CONCORD, Mass. - Gen. Frank J. Grass, chief, National Guard Bureau, recently visited the North Bridge at Minuteman National Historic Park, here April 10, 2015. Grass, was in Boston for the 2015 General and Flag Officer Homeland Security Executive Seminar. During the visit, Grass spent time at the Massachusetts National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters, the North Bridge and at Northeastern University.

 

The executive seminar, hosted by the National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute, in cooperation with Harvard University's JFK School of Government, is designed to provide a broad understanding of federal and state emergencies, crisis decision making and multi-agency collaboration.

 

Grass's visit to Joint Force Headquarters addressed Guardsman about the current state of the National Guard and its dual mission of federal deployments and the guards homeland mission.

 

During his visit to Northeastern University, Grass praised North­eastern Uni­ver­sity for implementing a first-​​of-​​its-​​kind agree­ment with the National Guard, enabling Guardsmen to earn their Master of Arts degree in Home­land Secu­rity through the university’s Col­lege of Pro­fes­sional Studies.
